Masterbatch can be used in almost all extrusion processes to make products, except rotational moulding and plastisol. PE is the most common thermoplastic used in the whole world, where PE can be classified into 11 different types by its density and branding. When judged by the used volume in colour masterbatch, those four types are the most important ones: High Density Polyethylene (HDPE); Medium Density Polyethylene (MDPE); Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE).
However, all types of PE can be processed by twin screw extruders and pelletized into granules, where colour masterbatch is produced by mixing PE with pigments and additives. PE colour masterbatch is very widely used, most commonly including milk jugs and toys, etc. By using twin screw extruder, there are three ways to pelletize PE colour masterbatch: water strand pelletizing, water ring hot-face pelletizing and under/in water pelletizing.
Below is the graphical illustration of the twin screw extruder with three pelletizing methods:

Below is the technical data for PE masterbatch twin screw extruder production line:
Twin screw extruders with water strand pelletizing, water ring hot-face pelletizing and in-water/underwater pelletizing methods are not limited to PE colour masterbatch production.
For those three pelletizing methods, below are the main applicable plastic formulations:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
A.What is your typical lead time?
Lead time to produce a full extruder production line varies depending on the size of the extruder. Typical lead time would be in the range from 15 days to 90 days.
B.What if I need to replace some parts of the machine due to wear and tear?
When you purchase our extruder, there are free spare parts for you to start with. We always recommend our customer to purchase some spare parts for the parts that are constantly under wearing (such as screw elements and pelletizer knives, etc). However, if you happen to run out, we always have spare in our factory, and we will send them to you via air freight so that it does not disturb your production.
